Column: JSON

4 steps± 3 minVideoVerified 22 Oct 2026
  1. Step 1 · Open your development environment
  2. Step 2 · Add a JSON column
  3. Step 3 · Fill in an object
  4. Step 4 · Valid JSON only

A JSON column stores a structured value in one cell: an object with fields, or a list. Handy for what differs per row, such as the parts of a repair or the raw answer from another system. For what you want to filter or sort on, ordinary columns are better.

Step 4 / 4

Valid JSON only

If the text is not valid JSON, or not an object or list, Flow refuses the row. A common mistake: names without quotes.

  1. In repair, type Adjust the brakes
  2. In parts, type {brake_pads: 2}
Valid JSON only · In repair, type Adjust the brakes; In parts, type {brake_pads: 2}
  1. Click Add

Valid JSON only · parts: Must be of type json.
